A Forum on The History of Adams Morgan
September 30, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
FreeThe History of the Adams Morgan Plaza is a forum and photo exhibit about the long community life of the corner of 18th St and Columbia Rd NW. The forum will cover the time of the Knickerbocker Theatre disaster in 1922 to 2022, when Truist Bank put a fence around the plaza. The presence of an easement on the plaza has been the focus of litigation since 2016. The program will educate the community on the specific issues included in the litigation and why it’s important the plaza remain a public space for continued community use. The exhibit will go up in the community room of the Mount Pleasant Library on September 17th and remain up for 1 month. The library will participate in Art All Night in Mount Pleasant on 9/29. The exhibit will be open to the public until 9pm that night.
