Gilded Lily Burlesque: Return to Glamour
October 14 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm$30
The sparkle of a rhinestone in the spotlight. The hypnotic shimmy of fringe across the hips. The caress of a silk stocking along the leg. This year’s Return to Glamour is a celebration of returns: the return of live burlesque, the return of glitz and glamour, and the return of Gilded Lily to DC! Gilded Lily’s goal for inclusivity also feeds into its mission for diversity in Baltimore burlesque, where performers of color and LGBTQIA+ suffer from a lack of visibility. The troupe sees its medium as a ripe platform for social discourse, as well as advocacy and activism. Burlesque is meant to be fun, entertaining and maybe just a bit irreverent, but consent always matters to both performers and the audience! So laugh out loud, cheer, hoot and holler, and always be sure to obtain permission before touching or interacting with the performers.
