With grocery stores too far and too few in number, limited access to farmers markets and budgets already stretched thin, it’s no wonder food deserts are the current staple of many parts of Wards 7 and 8 in Washington. In some cases, where food stamps and WIC aren’t enough, what can lower-income families do to ensure they are able to put healthy meals on the table?
Join Will Rap 4 Food, Inc., at Anacostia Library from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Saturday, April 4, as our grantees delve into the facts about nutrition and the impact it has on children and adults. As part of its Who’s a Washingtonian? grant, Will Rap 4 Food will have an expert analysis of current trends in each ward and opportunities for residents to share their own experiences on camera for the Fresh Beets Documentary.
Let your voice be heard! The Anacostia Library is located at 1800 Good Hope Road in Southeast. All ages are welcome.
