WASHINGTON, DC – HumanitiesDC is now accepting proposals for the DC Community Heritage Partnership (DCCHP) and DC Documentary Partnership Grants. This year, DCCHP awardees will preserve and illuminate the stories of go-go and jazz music in Washington, DC. This opportunity will provide funding for organizations to explore, document, and present unique research about the rich histories of these two musical genres in the District. Potential projects may focus on individual musicians, bands, shows, venues, fans, recordings, cultural expression, politics, media, historic events, or other themes related to jazz and go-go in the city. Grantees will receive up to $5,000. The DCCHP is a partnership of HumanitiesDC and the DC Historic Preservation Office.

The DC Documentary Partnership is accepting proposals to fund post-production of a documentary short or feature film that tell a humanities story about Washington, DC. Successful proposals should be in or near post-production, with no less than 80% of production complete. We are looking for innovative, unique films that demonstrate a deep connection to Washington, DC and are of interest to a wide public audience. Projects can receive up to $20,000 for a short and $35,000 for a feature.

The DC Community Heritage Partnership (DCCHP) and DC Documentary Partnership awards are granted with funds from the Washington, DC government via the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’ Humanities Grant Program.
