The Humanities Council will award $1,500 to individuals and organizations to produce creative, public cultural programming for a series of events to be held at the Gateway Pavilion and the RISE Center in Ward 8. The programs will collectively be known as HATFest Presents (Humanities, Arts and Technology Festival). Selected programs must have a specific focus on the humanities, arts, or technology (preferably all three), and must be capable of drawing a significant audience. All programs must take place between October 25th and November 30, 2014, and must be between one and three hours long. HATFest and Humanities DC will register attendees and assist with promotion, but it will be the responsibility of each awardee to market their programming, with special attention given to residents of Wards 7 and 8. Applications due by October 10, 2014.
