As the state humanities council for Washington, DC, HumanitiesDC has been charged with the task of administering “Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan” (SHARP) grants funded by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act via the National Endowment for the Humanities.
These grants provide general operating support to non-profit cultural organizations, working in the public humanities field, that are facing immediate economic challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic. Priorities for awarding the funds will be:
1. helping organizations continue their existing or planned public humanities programs by retaining staff and maintaining their financial obligations
2. special projects that increase an organization’s ability to provide equitable access to its public humanities programs and products during this difficult period.
We will offer two FAQ Webinars for the SHARP Grant. Use the toggle below to register for the session on Tuesday, August 31 at 1:00pm. If you would prefer to register for the session on Thursday, August 26 at 11am, please click here.
